What is the difference between a story and history?

I think stories and histories are alike. They both speak about a general topic and they’re both an article. The only difference  they have is that stories are a bit short and sometimes can be fiction but histories are always non-fiction and are a bit longer.

In my opinion there is not a big difference between a story and history. One difference that they have is that the story is a bit shorter than the history. Stories can have an absurd ending and aren’t always true but histories are mostly based on real things.

Story – History
What is the difference between story and history? In my opinion history is what happened in the past, for example wars. It is what then the next generation is learning. They learn their own history, their past life of their greatest people or grandparents. Story for me can be  short. It is like an action or en event, something else that then friends can tell to each other.
Gohar Gabrielyan

The two words history and story can be confusing to some English learners. History is the study of the past.
History is what has actually happened in the past.
For example: How I was busy yesterday or a few minutes ago? That is called history.
A story is a narrative. It narrates how something happened. A story can be a fiction based on imagination or on a real facts.
